DOUBLE D NICOLS SCRAPPI KOKO

n July of 2017 I received an invitation from the Kennel Club of Brazil to judge two weekend shows. I eagerly accepted the
invitation as it would be my first time in that country and also Lei and I would be able to visit her pug from Double D Kennels
Iof Brazil after the shows.

After more than a week of judging and seeing the sights of the beautiful country, it was time to go see our pug . Our good friend
Daniel Beloff of Double D Pugs and Dobermanns picked us up. As we entered his place and waited as he went to get our pug,
I noticed a red Dobermann in one of the runs. He immediately caught my eye, as I clearly saw from the way he moved and the
confidence he exuded that this was a special dog. I had no idea of his background at that time.

After looking at our pug, I asked Daniel about the red male in the run. He then told us that the red Dobe has just retired and
turned out to be a Multi Titled Show Dog, a Champion of six (6)countries, and has been a Multi Best in Show and Multi Best in
Specialty Show Winner, and was even the No. 1 Dog All-Breeds in Uruguay in 2016. I knew it! The dog was special.

Since he was retired, I brought up the idea of Scrappi going to the Philippines and after
two months of correspondence, Scrappi was going to the Philippines and as they say
“the rest is history”.

Scrappi arrived in time for the 2018 Philippine Circuit Show, and took Manila by
storm. He became the winningest locally owned dog at the Circuit Show, and by
year-end, he was the Philippine Canine Club’s 2018 Dog of the Year – All-Breeds.

This dog was meant to be a big part of the PCCI’s show scene. A dog we
did not plan of getting. We were at the right place, at the right time. The
friendship we have with Daniel and Vanessa of Double D Kennels made
it all possible. And with our co-owners Eugene and Ningning Chua,
we are grateful for God’s gift to us.
