Six all-breed championship dog shows to be held at SMX Convention Center
The Philippine Canine Club Inc. (PCCI), the country’s premier registration body for pedigreed dogs, will host the 2012 Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) Asia and Pacific Section Show in Manila. The event will take place February 24 – 26, 2012 at theSMXConvention Center, Mall of Asia Complex.
The international dog show is held every year in different locations in Asia Pacific, and will bring together expert judges from all over the world, including Finland, Columbia, Slovenia, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pakistan, and Taiwan.
“We are delighted to host this prestigious event, which showcases the world’s best pedigreed dogs. Through these shows, we hope to encourage more people to learn more about purebred dogs and how we can help ensure their welfare,” PCCI President Augusto Benedicto Santos III said.
The panel of judges include Daniela Risdan of Slovenia, president of the breeding committee for poodles in the Slovenian Kennel Club; Carlos Quinoñes, founding member of the Bogotá Kennel Club; and Ken Roy, president of the Kennel club of Pakistan and the Gundog Club of Pakistan.
The three-day show will feature three sub-events: the FCI and PCCI All-Breed Championship Dog Show; the FCI and Asian Kennel Union (AKU) All-Breed Championship Dog Show; the FCI Asia and Pacific Section Dog Show and AKU All-Breed Championship Dog Show. All events are open to the public. Tickets will be available onsite.
The 2012 FCI Asia and the Pacific Section Show's “Best in Show” winner will represent the FCI Asia and the Pacific Section at the Eukanuba World Challenge 2012. Also at stake are the FCI International Champion, Asian Champion, Philippine Champion, Philippine Grand Champion and Hall of Fame titles.
PCCI is a non-stock, non-profit, service-oriented corporation established in 1963 for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the love for pure-bred dogs. PCCI is a federal member of the FCI, an international organization of registering bodies based in Brussels, Belgium.
PCCI documents are recognized by the national registry organizations in all FCI-member countries: in the United States, by the American Kennel Club, in Canada by the Canadian Kennel Club and in the United Kingdom by the Kennel Club, among others. The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. was organized on March 21, 1963, as a non-stock,
non-profit service-oriented corporation for the purpose of promoting and encouraging
the love for purebred dogs. The Club's charter extends until year 2038 and authorizes
