Philippine Canine Club Inc. holding six All-breed Championship Dog Shows at the SMX Convention Center
(Manila, Philippines, February 24, 2011) ― The Philippine Canine Club Inc. (PCCI), the country’s premier dog registration body, today opened the 2012 Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) Asia and the Pacific Section Dog Show, which will be held until February 26 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex.
The show brings together expert judges from Finland, Columbia, Slovenia, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pakistan, and Taiwan. Judges who will adjudicate the event include Daniela Risdan, president of the breeding committee for poodles in the Slovenian Kennel Club; Carlos Quinoñes, founding member of the Bogotá Kennel Club; and Ken Roy, president of the Kennel Club of Pakistan and the Gundog Club of Pakistan
The event is divided into three sub-events: the 41st FCI and 464th PCCI All-Breed Championship Dog Show on Day 1; the 42nd FCI and 24th Asia Kennel Union (AKU) All-Breed Championship Dog Show on Day 2; and the 2012 FCI Asia and the Pacific Section Dog Show and 25th AKU All-Breed Championship Dog Show on Day 3.
PCCI is a non-stock, non-profit service-oriented corporation for the purpose of promoting and encouraging love for purebred dogs. As a federal member of the FCI, an international organization of registering bodies based in Brussels, Belgium, PCCI is the only accredited registering body in the Philippines for purebred dogs.
PCCI documents are recognized by the national registry organizations in all FCI-member countries; in the United States, by the American Kennel Club, in Canada by the Canadian Kennel Club and in the United Kingdom by the Kennel Club. PCCI is also one of the original members of the Asia Kennel Union (AKU) based in Tokyo, Japan.
The 2012 FCI Asia and the Pacific Section Dog Show is a rare opportunity to witness the greatest purebred canines in action as they compete in a series of conformation shows. The public can also meet the breeds in a special exhibit, and learn more about purebred dogs such as the Husky, Labrador Retriever, Pug, Pomeranian, Pekingese, Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Mini Schauzer, Mini Pinscher, Afghan Hound, German Shepherd Dog and Dobermann.
Admission fee is P100.00 per person. Ticket prices for senior citizens and children aged 6 - 12 are P80.00 and P50.00, respectively. Admission is free for children below 6 years old.

About the Philippine Canine Club, Inc.
The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. was organized on March 21, 1963, as a non-stock, non-profit service-oriented corporation for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the love for purebred dogs. The Club's charter extends until year 2038 and authorizes PCCI to maintain a registry of purebred dogs or stud books and to conduct dog shows and competitions.
PCCI maintains a registry of regular and associate members, and of litters and kennel names. PCCI also issues registration certificates and certified pedigree certificates of dogs, and confers championship titles, obedience and field trial titles to qualified dogs. PCCI issues dog show judging licenses to qualified members for individual breeds, groups of breeds and all breeds of purebred dogs.
